English HW for Friday, Jan 28, Day 1

CLASS ONE: Select the most important sentence (just one) in Book I. First: copy the line exactly. Then: reference the line (or lines) number. Third: identify the speaker and the listener/audience. Finally: explain why this sentence is the most important sentence in Book I in an 8-11 sentence paragraph (Hint: there is no correct answer--just a well defended one.)

CLASS THREE: FIRST-choose a character from Book I and "attach" him or her, mortal or immortal to one of the vocab words (diffident-swagger-mentor-brazen-prophecy) and explain in a brief five to eight sentence paragraph why that character SHOULD BE ASSOCIATED WITH A PARTICULAR VOCAB WORD. THEN DO THE SAME AS CLASS ONE: MOST IMPORTANT SENTENCE.

CLASS FOUR: READ PAGES 5-12. USE YOUR STICKY NOTES TO MARK UP THE TEXT.

Monday is a six period day and the firstn day of Term Three. Make sure that (1) you all bring your new term three Indie Reading Book (2) let me know if you would like your own copy of "Romeo and Juliet." I need a count nso I can order them. Cost will be about $5.00-probabgly a little less.
