History - War of 1812 Timeline Deadlines

War of 1812 Timelines
-
All classes are creating timelines of the events that caused the War of 1812...
- groups were to find 6 causes for the War of 1812 & explain how they helped cause the war
- those causes must be placed on a timeline (on a poster, or paper) running (at least) from 1783 - 1812...
- & the explanations were to be added to the poster/paper with the timeline.

This work is being done primarily in class.
However, for those groups that have fallen behind, the project must be completed by the deadline listed below...

English Homework Monday March 17, Day 4

Class One: Retell Act 2, scene 2 using the Retelling Rubric

Classes 2, 5, 6: Directors: Make final adjustments to your promptbooks. Layout (draw) your set
showing movements of actors and location of any props.

Actors: Study your lines (you do not have to memorize them but that sure would
be impressive.

On Monday I'll give a few minutes for final tweaking and then each group will present.

English Homework Friday, Day 3, March 14

Class One: Those of you who were in class, finish the retelling of Act 2, scene 2.
If you were not in class, you need to retell Act 2, scene 2, using the retelling Rubric that you all should have.

Class Two: Using your edited text, prepare a promptbook for Act 2, scene 2.

Class Five: Using your edited text, prepare a promptbook for Act 2, scene 2. Directors should prepare or have prepared a set design (don't forget to list your props. ) Romeo and Juliet should "design" your costumes. You can draw them, or write a descriptive paragraph, or research them on-line and download the px. Assume that you have an unlimited costume budget (a rich uncle.) Reminder: By Monday, finish reading Act 2, scenes 3, 4, 5, and 6.

Class Six: Same as Class Two

Class Five: Long term--by Monday you will have finished reading and marking up all of Act II.

Class Six: no assignment but be prepared to begin your promptbook.

Homework Monday March 10 Day 5

Class One: This is like a RAFT writing assignment:
ROLE: you are a director putting on the play Romeo and Juliet
AUDIENCE: your audience are your actors playing Romeo, Benvolio, and Mercutio.
FORMAT: Your format is a prompt book that you are creating for Act 2, Scene 1.
TOPIC: You tell actors whereto enter from, where to exit to, how to move about the stage, gestures, how to speak (slowly, loudly, passionately, etc. You must also create a sketch of the stage to trace the actor's movements. position any props that you decide you need. The text will provide all the information you need for props.

CLASSES TWO, FIVE, and SIX: revise your Act 2, scene 2 RAFT assignment. Remember to purge any modern language and replace it with Shakespearean vocab and structure. Your goal is to demonstrate your understanding of Act , scene 2.

R (ROLE): you can be either Romeo or Juliet.

A (AUDIENCE): your beloved cousin in Naples, Italy

F (FORMAT): either a letter or text message.

T (TOPIC): At Capulet's party, you mmet the man/woman of your dreams. describe what has happened in scene 2 in Capulet's garden. You want your cousin to return to Verona immediately to help plan then big event.

Length must be 200-300 words, double spaced. If you text message, it must be typed, double spaced, one page in length.
