Class One: (1) BRING YOUR SUMMER READING BOOK.
(2) each of you must select a prompt and be prepared to defend your choice.
Class Two: check yesterday's post.
Class Five: Each group has chosen its prompt. Brainstorm the details that you will need to support your thesis. Then each of you must write an introduction that includes your thesis or focus statement.
Class Six: (1) each of you will write the body paragraphs that you hope to use for your essay.
Use the 6 Trait Rubric as your guide.
(2) In class Tuesday we'll revise, order, and combine the body paragraphs. All that will remain is the conclusion.
You should be looking for a book to read for independent reading. and don't forget your spiral notebook.
Dates to remember:
Sept 15th and 16th: Summer Reading assessment--you will write an essay.
Sept 18th: Open House. Please encourage your parents to attend.
