HISTORY - Essay due next week

All US History classes are currently writing their own version of a Federalist (or Anti-Federalist) Paper

Role in Essay:
Each student must decide to be a Federalist or Anti Federalist
& must write the essay as if it is 1788 (the year that Americans decided whether or not to ratify the Constitution)

Purpose of Essay:
for Federalists = Convince Americans to ratify the new Constitution (replacing the Articles of Confederation)
for Anti- Federalists = Convince Americans NOT to ratify the new Constitution (either to scrap it and write a new one, or make changes to it before accepting it)

Evidence:
Students must explain their reasons and convince their audience by using evidence from the Constitution / structure of the US Government as set up by the Constitution.

Grading:
Students will be graded using the School-Wide writing rubric. (They have received a copy of this rubric from me. One is also available in the agenda that was issued by the school.)
